Grammarland

Grammarland is a small, wonderful 19th-century book by M.L. Nesbitt that teaches the nine parts of speech not as a list to memorize, but as characters in a courtroom. Judge Grammar keeps order. Sergeant Parsing investigates. Dr. Syntax checks the laws. And the parts of speech — from Rich Mr. Noun to the irksome Interjection — each take their turn explaining themselves before the court.

We're working through it with Pan, one lesson at a time, and writing up what actually helps a young Filipino homeschooler follow along: the character prep, the acting-it-out, the narration that feels like play instead of a quiz.
